Back 2 Basics is a beautiful Eco Friendly Resort in Southern Illinois with three A-Frame Cabins plus two private guest rooms in the Flanders Lodge. You can check rates, availability and book securely online. Back 2 Basics is the nature and wildlife aficionado's choice for lodging with low nightly rates on the Wine Trail in Southern Illinois. Stay here to experience Illinois wildlife and nature, tranquil peace and the luxury of our unique cabins and guest rooms. For small groups: You and your family and/or friends can all stay together in one spot. The cabins are within walking distance from the lodge. Back2Basics can host up to 22 people in total!

Cabins & Flanders Lodge
Our fully furnished cabins each sleep 2-4 people comfortably. They have a view on the lake and are within a short walk of each other on 42 acres of manicured lawns and gardens. Our cabins each have a fully stocked kitchen, private bath, private bedroom with a queen bed, a loft with a queen bed, and a pullout couch. Our guest rooms in the Flanders Lodge each have a spacious private bathroom and both are located on the ground floor. Each room sleeps 2 persons(max) in a queen-sized bed. All rooms share the use of the public areas with the owners and other tenants. We do not provide breakfast at this moment, but you can use our self-service kitchen.

The Back 2 Basics premises are an excellent vacation destination for any time of the year and any day of the week, for couples, families, and groups alike! We are adjacent to the Shawnee National Forest and near to Giant City State Park, Little Grassy Lake, Devils Kitchen Recreation Area, and much more nature and wildlife. We are located along the Shawnee Wine Trail, minutes from top wineries and dining. You can attend our Academy workshops or fish our 2 ponds, go horseback riding, rock climbing, bike riding, visit the Makanda Boardwalk, and more.

Back 2 Basics is only a short distance away from some of the most beautiful Vineyards/Wineries in Southern Illinois: a 6-minutes drive from Blue Sky Vineyard, a 10-minutes drive from Orlandini Vineyard, a 15-minutes drive from Starview Vineyard and a 17-minutes drive from Owl Creek Vineyard .
