To mark Fashion Week in New York, international floral design artist Daniël Ost is a guest at Bergdorf Goodman in New York, where he has been asked to create a floral work of art for the entrance to the store.

Daniël Ost is widely known in America, as well as in his native Belgium – and Japan – where floral design is a vital part of that country’s cultural heritage. Daniël is also very popular for weddings in the Middle East and has been asked to work on special projects in Petra (Jordan) and the official inauguration of the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha (Qatar). He has also written a number of inspiring books, which have attracted a great deal of international attention.

In recent years, the art and fashion worlds have also become more acquainted with the 56-year-old floral designer’s work. For example, Daniël created the flower arrangements for the opening of the Palazzo Grassi Museum in Venice, and he erected a wall of pink dahlias, gerberas, hydrangeas and lisianthuses as the backdrop to Dries Van Noten’s spring 2007 collection in Paris. And this year, he has created floral decorations at the top fashion store of Bergdorf Goodman in New York

The floral installation will be on display during the whole month of September.
