In Flanders Fields Memorial

This Memorial Day, Flanders House commemorated all war victims and in particular those American and Canadian soldiers who fought "In Flanders Fields." This commemoration was held at the Clinton War Memorial on the South-East corner of De Witt Clinton Park, located at 11th Avenue and 52nd Street. A wreath was placed at the foot of the Clinton War Memorial, which is a statue of a WWI soldier with the poem "In Flanders Fields" inscribed in its foot. At the same time "The Last Post" was played as a symbolic final farewell. The memorial ended with the reading of the beautiful "In Flanders Fields" poem by Lt. Col. John McCrae.
