Education

Each year, the Education and Training Department of the Flemish Government offers five (5) fellowships of an academic year (10 months) to American students.
These fellowships are granted for study or research at universities, conservatories of music, or art academies recognized by the Flemish Government, in the following fields: art, music, humanities, social and political sciendes, law, economics, sciences, and medicine.

The fellowships are only valid for higher education institutions and programmes recognized by the Flemish Government (Education and Training Department).

The decision to grant a fellowship is made by the Education and Training Department (Division for Higher Education and Adult Education) after consultation with prospective host institution.

Application period: October 1st to January 31st.

You will be notified of the result of your application as soon as possible and no later than the end of July. The academic year, for most institutes of higher education in Flanders, starts at the end of September.
